ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Wurlitzer 4851 wallbox is a VERY rare and hard to find item with a production estimate of approximately two thousand. The cover is made of gorgeous metal and iridescent powder blue and silver plexiglass case and has "see deep" decorations with red tenite buttons. There are two pages that slide up and down and are controlled by the center button. This button also controls the output signal. (four wire wallbox; 24VAC, Ground and two signals. Originally used with a W-248 stepper or TWO W-219 steppers.
It was produced in 1951 specifically for the Wurlitzer 1400 and 1450 Jukeboxes.
It was patterned after the 3020 wallbox which had 24 selections and operated with 110 VAC. The 4851 used four wires and low voltage, 24 VAC. It incorporates the old style "coin grinder" type of accumulating credits. When a coin is deposited it is held in place to calculate the proper number of credits to be established requiring a complete cycle with no signal output and then releases the coin into the coin box. Once credits are established (up to 20) the wallbox will send out a signal when any of the 24 buttons is pressed and continue to hold credits until exhausted. The selection will vary from page 1 to page 2.
