VINTAGE HARP LYRE MUSIC BOX, FIGURAL BIRD HEAD.
This is a very unique I believe decoration novelty large size figural music box, not an actual functional lyre harp. It looks to be very old, and it has a neat decal of a man playing the instrument, but there is a music box set into it that is key wind, the music box skips, so we'll need replacement or repair, there are nylon strings in the harp section, and the edge of the lyre harp has a carved bird head. I cannot find a maker's mark on this. It does certainly look to be old. I am thinking this is best described as a novelty full size music box or music room or living room decoration, that would be more of an entertainment item than a functional instrument. Very unique wooden carved with beautiful decal music box in the form of a lyre harp, the music box needing replacement or repair because it skips, otherwise a great addition to any vintage entertainment or novelty string instrument music box or music room or home decor decoration related memorabilia collection.
