Vintage 1930s Covered Wagon WESTERN Wall Plaque Chalkware/Plaster of Paris
This is a great piece depicting early Western America. It is a wall plaque featuring an ox-driven covered wagon and a family headed to the west. This is a plaster of Paris piece which was a process using prepared molds and plaster products. These were hand-painted and the original paint is still in excellent condition. These were done regularly during the 30s to the mid-50s when newer ways of making molds came about. The plaque has a few rub marks but is generally in great vintage condition. The wire is still intact for easy hanging. It Measures about 16" across x 8" tall x 2½" thick at the thickest point. It is a very heavy piece.
