    Description

    RG-1850
In the last half of the 18th century, it was fashionable to meet and sew with friends, thus creating a need for a set of easy to carry sewing tools.  One of the earliest was the "tower type compendium".  Such sewing kits were ideal to take along when visiting friends.
This Sweet, Pewter and Cobalt Blue Glass sewing compendium is imported from England.  The bobbin inside has sections for two different threads and holds two needles.  The top has an adorable mouse.  A small thimble rests on top, all held together with a “forest of Flowers” collar.
A complete little sewing kit.  Such a sweet collectors item.
