    Description

This listing is for a US Naval Acadamy Annapolis Midshipman's Full Dress Blue parade uniform.  These classic-looking, 19th Century style uniforms are specifically tailored to the individual for a perfect, custom fit.  You will recieve the jacket and the trousers you see in the photos.  Both items are in excellent, lightly used condition with minimal fading, if any, and no rips, holes, or tears on the outside.  There are some small holes on the collar, perhaps where insignia used to be placed, and a hole in the left pocket of the trousers.  The trousers are an atypical cut compared to the few Naval Academy trousers I have seen considering the button fly and lack of a "fishtail" at the rear waist; I have included them in the auction anyways since I found them together with the jacket and they show signs of being tailored and of being the same vintage.
The jacket is named to Joseph Leicht III and dated to 1950.  My research indicates he graduated the academy in and was comissioned as an Ensign in 1953, being assigned to the USS Hanson, DDR-832, a destroyer, by 1956.  During this period, the Hanson participated in cruises around the Pacific and in exercises with US allies as a show of force during the escalating Cold War.  I will provide the buyer with links to material I found about this uniform's previous owner.  Buy now to own a piece of American Naval History!
