Super Nice original working 1965 Midway MONSTER GUN arcade game - FREE SHIPPING

  • Condition: This vintage Midway Rifle game is 99% working. There is only one thing that is not working, and that is the recoil on the rifle. It just needs a coil. Everything else is working perfectly. I have installed warm LED lights, so it's nice and bright and shouldn't have bulbs burn out anymore. Plus the cooler bulbs will preserve the excellent condition glass. The aim seems pretty spot on, the scoring works, the motors all work nice and smoothly, the bell rings, the targets all seem to work perfectly. The cabinet is solid without water damage and looks amazing. It has been touched up but fairly well - it just looks great as you can see in the pictures. The cabinet has new locks, new feet, a new cord

    Description

    WORKING CONDITION:
This game is almost entirely working.  The only thing that is not working is the recoil on the rifle when you shoot.  Every time you pull the trigger, there is a solenoid that engages and kind of bangs into the steel shaft under the rifle, which gives the effect of the rifle kicking a little bit.  This coil needs to be replaced.  There are a couple of pictures showing the assembly where the coil needs to be installed and where it is installed on the game.
Otherwise, the game works perfectly.  It starts up, resets the scores, lights a random score to beat, starts the game timer, and starts moving the targets.  The targets are moved by means of motors in the body of the game, which are working perfectly and smoothly.  The neat thing is that the motor kind or starts, stops, speeds up, slows down, in order to make it harder to hit the targets.
All of the targets work - that is, when you hit them, the bell rings, the target drops, and you get score.  Then the target gets reset before the next "round".  The game consists of three rounds, where the lighting is different, the speed and difficulty of hitting the targets is different.
I have replaced all of the bulbs behind the backglass with new cointaker LED bulbs, warm light.  They look exactly like the original bulbs only slightly brighter and will never burn out (in our lifetimes).
The mechanics are in excellent condition on this game, and there is no reason this won't go on working for many years to come.  This game appears to have been stored very well in climate-controlled storage, as there is no major corrosion or mold or water damage anywhere that I could see traces of.  Looks super clean inside and out.
I have had this game available for play in my Route 66 Arcade Museum for about 3 years, then moved to my main location: Arcadia, America's Playable Arcade Museum and it has been a hit with visitors from around the globe.  But alas, I rotate new equipment in all the time to keep things fresh so this game, after going through my shop and getting it refreshed and playing as close to new as possible, is now being put into storage to await its new home.
This game has both original back doors as well as the original side service access door.  All in great condition.  I have also installed new feet on the cabinet.
Here is a link to a video showing how it is working:

    PHYSICAL CONDITION and RATINGS:
This game is in excellent physical condition.  The cabinet is solid with no signs of water damage.  The cabinet paint has been touched up, not perfectly, but well enough that the cabinet looks very nice.
The backglass is in very good condition.  There are a few places where the paint has either flaked or worn off, but it is mostly intact and in very good condition.
The internal artwork and mechanics are in outstanding condition.  I've owned a ton of these rifle games, and usually the artwork inside is all moisture damaged, moldy, torn, stained, missing, etc.  In this game it is in just about perfect condition.  The blacklight reflective paints are still intact and light up vibrantly with the black light shining on them.
The control panel is in very good condition.  The rifle also aims pretty spot on.  It is in good condition, and looks just like a real rifle.  I think they used real rifles when they made these - obviously key components removed so that it can't fire.
The coin door is in very good condition, and has a working coin mech and new lock installed.  Also has the original metal coin box AND the original metal coin box cover for security.  This is rare.
If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know - I'm happy to answer.

    LOCATION:
This game is located in sunny, beautiful downtown McLean, IL 61754.  That's right...in the heart of Classic Arcade World where Arcadia: America's Playable Arcade Museum, Pinball Paradise, and Hotel Arcadia are located!  I suggest buying this game and then making its pickup a fun family road trip!  We have over 140 playable games and luxurious arcade-themed lodging options.  Contact me for more details or look for hotel Arcadia on airbnb.
    SHIPPING:
Included in the price is FREE WHITE GLOVE SHIPPING from North American Van Lines.  They will bring it right inside your house (ground floor only).  This is for the 48 contiguous United States only.  If you want this shipped internationally, it will cost extra and we will have to discuss it and get a shipping quote before you pull the trigger.
Regarding shipping time, North American Van Lines only picks up from my location once a week.  So shipping will probably take between 7 and 14 days depending on where you are in the country.  In some rare cases possibly longer.
For what it's worth, I have been collecting (hoarding) games for over 30 years and selling them on eBay since about 1997. I have probably shipped two thousand games (many but not all on eBay), from individual games to full containers.  You won't find a more reputable seller...check my feedback.  Unfortunately, I cannot provide a money-back guarantee on this just because a lot can happen in shipping.  What I CAN guarantee is that if you pick the game up, or if not when the game leaves my hands, it will be exactly as described and photoed above.  And in 30 years of selling, I have never left anyone in the lurch or ripped anyone off.  I'm a fair, honest guy...ask anyone.
