Kralik Art Nouveau "Peach Oil Spot"
Art Glass Vase
For consideration is a fine antique Bohemian art glass vase circa 1900 by
The Kralik Glassworks, Wilhelm Kralik Sohne,
this lovely piece features an oil spot décor, known as "Peach Oil Spot", a well documented décor on the Kralik-Glass website and Bohemianglass.org. This vessel has orange - brown glass covered with colorless glass, sealed yellow - gold spots and a gorgeous matte iridescence.
This beautiful Art Nouveau vase has a genie bottle like form with a fire-polished rim. The vase is good condition with minor age related wear, there are no cracks or repairs. In the photos, it appears to be a few pinpoint micro chips to the outer rim, however, I did not feel this by touch and only noticed when viewing the enlarged photo. There are bubbles, small sand and ash deposits throughout (see photos), obviously formed during the manufacturing process. The vase measures approximately 7" tall.
