    Description

    FOLKCRAFT INSTRUMENTS MOUNTAIN DULCIMER
    - Model FSH-CeW #271 April 1990. This is a unique, one of a kind, Folkcraft Dulcimer. I was the founder and former owner of Folkcraft and built this one as an experiment. I kept it and never sold it until now. What makes it unique, is that I added chromatic 1/4 frets to the top string. The 4 strings are equally spaced and are tuned high D, A, low D and high D. This would allow the player to play the first 3 strings as usual but have the option of adding a chromatic by playing the top string. I believe it would be ideally suited for the player who fingerpicks. This Dulcimer has a walnut body and a Western Red Cedar soundboard. Its sound is rich and warm with good volume. It has some nicks and scratches but is in excellent condition otherwise. It could use new strings. Fingerboard width is 1 3/8". Scale length is 27".
