ITEM DESCRIPTION
Item Description
Up for your consideration is a fine Kralik art glass vase, c. 1905.  The piece is a well-known, relatively uncommon, and desirable Kralik form, in which the ribs change colors (from greens to pinks, to purple) as you move through the room.  This technique was seldom used during this era, but provides a gorgeous effect.  The vase stands 8.25" tall, and is in excellent condition.  There are no chips, cracks
, or damage. Please note that someone added a
spurious "Steuben Aurene" mark to base.
The upper rim has some roughness and minor flea-bites to the top, which occurred during the manufacture of the piece.  The ribs are achieved by the use of a mold, which
necessitates that the piece is blown from the top.  Therefore, the glass blower must snap the piece from the top, and polish it down which leaves this roughness.
