This was the follow up book to Arthur Conan Doyle’s original “The Coming of the Fairies” (1921) to bring the so-called Cottingley photos before the public in England. It was penned by a Theosophist, Edward L. Gardner, who along with Doyle and another Theosophist named Geoffrey Hodson, were called in to examine and make a determination of the case of these fairy photos.
The photos were taken by two school-girls at Cottingley Glen (sometimes spelled Cottingly) around 1917, and the main story today is how these two could have fooled the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories along with two prominent Theosophists over their “cooked up” creations. Both girls later admitted that they had used cardboard cutouts for the first 4 photos, but maintained to their dying day that the 5th photo was real.
An ultra-rare original copy of this now famous book on a famous case.

The headquarters is located in London’s Belgrave Square. Founded in 1872, its purpose is to study psychic phenomena and disseminate information and evidence obtained through its mediums” [The Free Dictionary by Farlex].
