Extremely rare antique coin operated bagatelle type pin ball machine,
    precursor
to the modern electric pinball machine, which was first patented in 1933.  These non-electric ancestors to the modern electric pinball machine were only made for a short time because of advances in electricity, and are thus very hard to find.
It measures 24 inches long, 16 inches wide, is 9 inches tall in the back, 6-1/2 inches tall in the front, and contains a game board that is based upon a deck of cards. These early wooden cased games were often used as trade stimulators in bars and restaurants.
There is paint wear in the upper left and right corners (pictured) All of the pins are present, the paint on actual game play surface is very crisp and colorful with just some light wear on the edges, and the glass is all good. The coin slot works, the spring loaded plunger works, and is ONE metal steel ball inside.  There is no back on the case.
This barn find is in the exact condition that it was in when we acquired it, except for removing some of the dust and grime on the outside.  You can see that the game board still has cob webs and such on it, but the glass slides up so you can clean it if you prefer.
The play surface is entitled Play-Boy, but given it's age, it clearly has no relation to Hugh Hefner's magazine which did not begin publishing  until the mid 1950s.  There are other markings on the play surface, but nothing to indicate the maker, and there are no identifying marks on the case.
